Abstract

Theme-based art creation refers to the creation that revolves around a specific theme, with a certain plot, which can reflect the spirit of the times and align with the prevailing trends of the era. From the perspective of national intangible cultural heritage, exploring theme-based art creation in contemporary China is an important way to expand and enrich its connotation. It requires artists to organically integrate the characteristics of national intangible cultural heritage with the subject matter, ideas, and styles of theme-based creation. It aims to explore the intrinsic connection between national intangible cultural heritage and theme-based art creation.In recent years, various initiatives such as the "National Major Historical Theme Art Creation Project" and the "Chinese Civilization Historical Theme Art Creation Project" at the national level, as well as local series of theme-based art creation activities, have stimulated the enthusiasm and vitality of artists, giving rise to a large number of high-quality theme-based artworks. Therefore, the author explores and taps into the relevant resources of national intangible cultural heritage, applies them to art creation practices in universities, ignites the creative enthusiasm and innovative ability of college students, leverages the advantages of art resources in remote areas, and enables college students to create artworks that reflect regional ethnic culture using image resources in the information age. Ultimately, this will lead to the development of artistic creation methods and strategies with universal application value in the field of intangible cultural heritagent of this paper.
